Hiked a couple of miles at the Palouse Falls State Park (11-18-2011) --- about 2 miles with 300 ft elev gain.
On Fri, 18 Nov, I drove to the WSU (Washington State University), Pullman, to pickup our son, Danny for the Thanksgiving Break. I was too late for his Quartet performance at 1505 (I left too late at 1030), so I decided to stopped by at the Palouse Falss State Park. I arrived there around 1530. It was about 90 miles away from Pullman. Indeed, the view of the Palouse Falls was spectacular. I would never expect to see a such fall in the middle of the corn or hay fields. I hiked a couple of miles at the Palouse Falls State Park. On the way to the Fall, on a primative dirt road (WA 261 ?) (a lot better condition than the typical FS roads), I almost lost control of my van driving too fast on a slightly down hill. I was following a school bus but, I guess, I was driving too fast (around 35 MPH). I swerved 3 times and gained the control of the car. It was alarming but a huge relief...On Fri,
Driving over the Snoqualmie Pass was ok without any restriction.
Stopped by at the Palouse Falls State Park, Kahlotus, WA. Spend
the night at the Couch, WSU Dorm.

On Sat,
The Pullman Area got snowed in overnight. At the
WSU Campus, I had
to use my snow chains to come down the hill and removed the snow chains at the
the main road. The Snoqualmie Pass was ok without any restriction.
