Hiking Cathedral Grove, British Columbia, Canada (Tue, 11-19-2013)
I was on a TDY for the week of 18 Nov. On Tue, 19 Nov, I was very fortunate to have a couple of hours to leisurely walk the Cathedral Grove trails, British Columbia (BC), Canada. Along the Hwy 4, it was incredible to see the "wondrous" display of old growth Douglas-fir (over 250 ft in height and 29 ft in circumference (or 2.9 ft diameter) and as old as 900 years) in the south loop trail (1 miles) and Western Red Cedar trees in the north trail (1 miles).
2007, Cathedral Grove was short listed for a national contest called "Seven Wonders of Canada" for its Big Trees as an icon of British Columbia. Cathedral Grove is located in MacMillan Provincial Park about 100 miles North from Victoria, BC, Canada which is across the Strait of Juna De Fuca from Port Angeles, Washington State (USA)). Highly recommend to visit the trails if one is visiting the Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.Click Here for the Youtube video:
